Erotica Consulting aims to provide clients with a safe environment to explore various topics related to erotic experiences and topics, including but not limited to sex, without the aim, intention or need to treat a clinical diagnosis or pathology. Client’s are free to discuss and engage in dialogue without identifying as unhealthy, distorted or deficient and are simply engaged in a supportive space to learn, grow and develop with guidance.

Discussion of any kind of barrier, hindrance or influence on client’s erotic life is encouraged if not necessary, to gain a full appreciation for the client’s experience. While consulting cannot and does not treat mental health illness or disorder, it can serve as a supportive space to address these issues. Though Dr. Bre is a licensed mental health practitioner, she is not acting in this capacity in the consultant role. Therefore she is not responsible for providing mental health care. However, Dr. Bre can and will use her professional experience in the mental health field to inform and educate clients where appropriate.

Prior to engaging in regular sessions, clients will identify areas and topics of interest to explore. After a review of topics and client’s background, Dr. Bre will cultivate a series of workshop style dialogic sessions to assist and guide clients in the exploration of their erotic self. Sessions can vary, ranging from formal education, to hands on exercises, to deep dives into client’s subjective experiences. Sessions may have a cathartic effect, as client’s will have the space to explore areas as they arise.
The objective of Erotica consulting is to assist clients in confronting aspects of their erotic life that have been left unexplored, shrouded in taboo or avoided due to fear.

“Shadow Work” is a depth psychological term developed by Jungian psychology, related to the concept of exploring and integrating unconscious emotions, thoughts and behaviors. The shadow refers to the parts of us that are “hidden”, unseen or buried- in other words, the parts of the human psyche that remain in a person’s lack of awareness. Sex/Erotic shadow work therefore, deals with the unconscious aspect of self related to sex and the erotic. In general, sex/erotica is a suppressed human dimension in modern societies- meaning the acknowledgement and purposeful exploration of human sexuality and erotica is collectively denied and considered taboo. Most people have a fearful or “dark” relationship with their sexual lives and sense of self. Therefore, sex/erotic shadow work is the intentional seek and search of one’s erotic self, which may involve confronting fears or discovering unknown information about one’s sexual identity, desires, fantasies, orientations, erotic nature etc.
